Auditions

To become a member of the orchestra, musicians must pass an audition. Auditions are usually held each spring but can be arranged at other times of the year if there are openings for particular instruments. Registration is held in September at which time tuition payment is due.

Audition Fees

Audition fees are $30 per musician and are non-refundable.

A: Yes! Conveniently, we get a notification every time someone fills the form. We will contact you in the weeks following the reception of the form and let you know about your audition date and time.

Q: Do I need to prepare the orchestral excerpts?
A: If you’re auditioning for the Symphony Orchestra (advanced level), yes. If not, you do not need to prepare them. If you’re unsure about your level or which ensemble to choose, do not prepare them, but talk about it with the Artistic Director at your audition.

A: Nope. Just the solo part is fine.

Q: I’m not sure yet what I want to play for my audition. Should I wait until later to fill the audition form?
A: No. Please fill the audition form as soon as possible, so you can make sure to have a spot on your preferred audition date. You can let us know about your audition repertoire later by email.

Q: Can I change my audition pieces even if I have already registered?
A: Yes, it’s fine. Please inform the Artistic Director (who will be listening to you) what piece you will be playing at the time of your audition.

A: We will notify everyone about their audition results in the weeks following the LAST DAY of auditions.
