This membership brings with it many responsibilities, the most important of which are the following:
-
To attend all rehearsals and performances.
-
To arrive on time for all rehearsals, performances and other orchestra activities.
-
To arrive fully prepared having practiced all your music.
-
To bring your instrument, music, music stand, spare parts, and accessories, including strings, rosin, reads, mutes, cello stops and anything else you will need to rehearse and perform successfully.
-
To behave with respect, maturity, and kindness toward your colleagues, mentors, and audience at all times.
If a significant number of these requirements are not adhered to and leads to behavior that is severely disruptive to other musicians, then the parent may be asked to intervene with their student. Any member who fails consistently to arrive at rehearsal well prepared may be asked to re-audition to retain their place in the orchestra.
