Communications

The Westmount Youth Orchestras program provides and maintains a high quality musical training and performance program. Effective communication is critical to this objective. As a result, WYO communicates with its members and families by way of the following means:

• The WYO web site is an essential source for all information related to rehearsals, concerts, and other events. The WYO calendar online is kept up-to-date. Members are expected to refer to the website at least once per week in order to stay up-to-date on orchestra activities and important schedule changes (e.g. rehearsal cancellations).
  
  
• E-mail is the primary method of communication. It is imperative that we have the correct e-mail address for both parent and musician at all times. We expect our students and parents to regularly check e-mail for WYO messages. Please be sure that your spam blockers, firewalls, etc. are set to accept WYO e-mail at all times.

Inclement Weather Policy and Communication

Parents and musicians are responsible for checking the WYO web site to see if rehearsals or other activities have been cancelled due to weather or other emergencies. The WYO does NOT necessarily follow school closings. If you decide the local condition is too unsafe for travel, please notify the Orchestra Administrator as early as is possible.
